You will lead, coordinate, and perform daily work orders, preventive maintenance, and system repairs across multiple facilities to ensure safety and operational readiness.

The role requires one year of mechanical experience, knowledge of HVAC, electrical, carpentry and painting, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure lanes and scoring systems meet USBC and NCAA standards for compliance.

• Maintain logs for parts inventory, repairs, and equipment performance.

Under general supervision, serves as the lead technician for theElliott Student Union (ESU) and Union Bowling Center (UBC). Thisposition oversees, coordinates, and executes daily building workorders in alignment with Facilities Planning & Operations (FPO)standards. Performs a broad range of semi-skilled tasks incarpentry, painting, and minor repairs. Additionally, ensures UnionBowling Center equipment, string pinsetters, and lane conditionscomply with USBC and NCAA standards. Considered essential personnelfor building emergency response.

Examples of Duties

Elliott Student Union (ESU) Maintenance & Work OrderManagement — 75%

• Work Order Lead & Coordination: Serves as theprimary lead technician for the Elliott Student Union. Creates,coordinates, tracks, and executes routine and daily work ordersthroughout the facility in accordance with FPO standards andprocedures. Create and submit Service Center work orders forrepairs that require specialized, higher-level technicalsupport.
• General Building Maintenance: Performs preventative andreactive maintenance across all skilled trades. Tasks may includerepairing floor/carpet tile, patching walls, trim work, stair treadreplacement, door closure adjustments, painting, replacing ceilingtiles, changing filters, and assisting with motor/beltreplacements.
• Safety & Inspections: Conducts routine floorwalk-throughs and inspections to identify safety hazards, equipmentmalfunctions, or needed structural repairs throughout high-trafficspaces throughout the Elliott Student Union.

Union Bowling Center (UBC) Maintenance & TechnicalOperations — 25%

• Mechanical & Equipment Oversight: Schedules andperforms regular preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, andmajor rebuilds on string pin systems, pins, ball returns, bowlingballs, automated scoring systems, and related mechanicalcomponents.
• Lane Certification & NCAA Standards: Maintainsbowling lanes, lane conditioning equipment, and daily oil patternsto meet annual USBC certification requirements and NCAA regulationsin support of the UCM Jennies Bowling program practices andcompetitions.
• Safety & Chemical Compliance: Ensures strictoperational compliance with OSHA safety standards, high-voltageequipment safety, and proper handling/disposal of hazardousmaterials used in bowling operations.
• Staff Training: Trains student employees on machinesafety, basic parts identification, and minor malfunctionfixes.
• Inventory & Records: Maintains accurate operationallogs for parts inventory, repair costs, and machine performance.Identifies replacement parts and prepares purchaserequisitions.

Typical Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• One (1) year of mechanical experience required
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and paintingpreferred.
