Job summary

Pavion in New York, Woodside, is seeking a Union Helper to join our fire protection team. You will service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems, ensuring equipment is functional and safe for clients. This on-site role requires a High School Diploma or GED and FDNY S78/S98 Certificates plus NYC SST Card.

Practical experience is valued, along with professional interaction with customers. You will work under supervision, maintain vehicles and tools, and support dispatchers to complete

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0+ years of direct fire alarm industry work experience.
• FDNY S78 Certificate of Fitness.
• FDNY S98 Certificate of Fitness.
• NYC SST Card.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for repair.
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting of signal issues.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders efficiently.
• Inform dispatcher/manager of service status for action.
• Perform fire alarm inspections.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Union Helper to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
• Perform fire alarm inspections
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0+ years of direct fire alarm industry work experience
• FDNY S78 Certificate of Fitness
• FDNY S98 Certificate of Fitness
• NYC SST Card

The hourly pay for this role is: $17 per hour.

Benefits: Per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
