Job summary

Townsend Construction Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate excavators, graders, loaders and other heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth on construction sites.

The role requires routine equipment maintenance, strict OSHA safety adherence, and verification of underground utilities before digging. Long shifts (8–12 hours) and occasional weekends may apply; union membership is available.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with management and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment on underground site utility construction.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and report issues to Foreman.
• Follow processes and job orientation.
• Perform routine inspection and report needed maintenance on equipment.
• Visually verify underground utility locations before excavation.
• Be knowledgeable about trenching requirements and PPE placement.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
