Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Union Grain Laborer in Chesapeake, VA. The Grain Laborer will perform housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the grain elevator.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine housekeeping as directed.
• Carry out other routine labor tasks as assigned.
• Work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies, as well as company policies.

Preferred Education

• High School Diploma or GED; further education preferred.

Experience Requirements

• TWIC application is required.
• Basic industry safety knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with operating process from computer-based systems.
• Ability to multitask.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Must be able to move freely throughout facilities, including climbing heights up to 150 feet, carrying tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., exposure to temperatures from 0-100°F, humidity, noise levels from 50dB to 100dB, and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus, must be worn as required.
