As a Union Finisher, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
Spreads concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
Levels and shapes concrete, and finishes freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
Utilizes required tools to complete required tasks.
Arranges and constructs concrete forms.
Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and procedures.
Assists with related carpentry tasks, as required.
Ensures quality of work meets company standards.
Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.
$30.00 per hour.
Minimum two years of experience in concrete construction.
Union membership required.
High School Diploma or GED.
OSHA 10 hour certification preferred.
Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
Keep tools and workspace organized.
Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
