Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Journeyman to support construction projects by preparing, handling, and supplying materials for other crafts. The role involves loading and unloading materials, erecting scaffolding, and assisting with concrete work and site clean-up.

You will work with a team, follow safety guidelines, and provide guidance to Laborer I/II and apprentices while adapting to varied jobsite needs and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of two-year apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice.
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of two-year apprenticeship program
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

The base pay range for this role is $44.49 - $53.48 per hour.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
