Job description

A Union Diesel Mechanic will work under the supervision of a Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic. The apprentice shall be assigned work typically performed by a Journeyman Mechanic, ensuring that by the end of the apprenticeship, the individual is a qualified Journeyman Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform general maintenance and minor repairs.
2. Assist the Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic(s).
3. Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
4. Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, making adjustments as needed.
5. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Trade school graduate.
3. At least 18 months of mechanical experience.
4. Ongoing training appropriate for the apprenticeship level.

Pay Range:

Minimum: USD $22.00/Hr.

Maximum: USD $38.00/Hr.
