Job description

Western Specialty Contractors is expanding our Roofing team in Peoria, IL! Our roofers averaged 1795 hours of roofing work last year and are looking forward to another busy year. We are seeking a hands-on leader with 10+ years of experience in commercial, low-slope roofing. As a Roofing Lead Foreman, you will:

1. Identify hazards related to work surroundings, including unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
2. Supervise assigned workers to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
3. Communicate effectively with employees and maintain good customer relations.
4. Investigate leaks and lead patching and repair projects on all types of commercial roofs.
5. Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
6. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
7. Oversee safety requirements and ensure all workers understand them.
8. Perform other tasks as required by business needs.

Requirements

1. Proven reading, writing, and math skills to understand safety policies and instructions.
2. Ability to read drawings.
3. Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods, lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders and scaffolds, and see clearly.
4. Willingness to work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and wear safety gear.
5. Experience in crew leadership and professional communication with customers.
6. Proficiency in leak investigations, roofing patching, and repairs in various roofing materials.
7. Comfort with technology, including tablets like iPads.
8. Reliable transportation and passing a drug screening.
9. Valid driver’s license.

Benefits

1. Union wage rate based on position, $38.70-$40.50 per hour.
2. Position covered under a collective bargaining agreement with benefits through the union.
