Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to support UC Engineering and Navy NMCI Infrastructure. You will design, configure, implement and troubleshoot Navy UC systems including Cisco/Ribbon voice, video, and presence platforms.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience, active clearance or ability to obtain, and hybrid work with home/office days. Location near a NAVY base preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience required in telecom space.
• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain it.
• Located near a NAVY base (e.g., Norfolk).
• DOD 8570 Compliant - Security+.
• Experience with Cisco and Ribbon UC & Collaboration product suite.
• Experience with CUCM, Unity Connection, VCS, CMS, TMS, and related Cisco/Ribbon tech.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enterprise Cisco voice, video, presence systems.
• Understand codecs and protocols of Cisco and Ribbon technologies.
• Implement Cisco/Ribbon gateways.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting.
• Create and update documentation of voice/video systems.
• Support IP communication networks in operations.

Verizon is seeking Unified Communications Engineers to support UC Engineering and Operational support on the US Navy NMCI UC Infrastructure. The Unified Communication Engineer will serve as subject matter expert OPS support and Service Delivery within Navy Enterprise VoIP, VTC and general Unified Collaboration support. Candidate will utilize a broad knowledge of unified communications, network, server, and telecommunications to design, configure, implement and troubleshooting of Navy's unified communications systems and applications. Responsibilities include Tier III resolution and support Tier IV, varying implementation projects, troubleshooting and resolving problems.Responsibilities will include:

• Working as part of UC Team to maintain enterprise Cisco voice, video, presence systems.
• Understanding the codecs, protocols of Cisco and Ribbon technologies.
• Implementing of Cisco / Ribbon gateways.
• Helping with basic Network troubleshooting.
• Creating, maintaining and updating documentation of voice/video systems.
• Supporting IP communication networks in operations.
• Mentoring and developing junior personnel.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain it.
• Located near a NAVY base (i.e. San Diego or Norfolk, etc)
• DOD 8570 Compliant - Security+
• Federal Gov or Military Agency experience in Telecom space
• Cisco CCNP Collaboration / Ribbon Technologies (preferred) or related experience
• Four or more years of in-depth experience supporting Cisco and Ribbon UC and Collaboration Product Suite
• Experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection Server,
• Cisco Video Communication Server (VCS), Cisco Telepresence MCU Chassis, Cisco
• Meeting Server (CMS) CUCM IM and Presence Services, Cisco Unified Attendant, Cisco
• Emergency Responder, Cisco Prime, Cisco Telepresence Management (TMS)
• Experience with Session Border Controllers, Ribbon SBC / RAMP / Analytics
• Proven experience and solid understanding of SIP and PRI circuits

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science/Information technology.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles
• Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Exceptional documentation skills to clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures and network assessments.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $109,500.00 - $209,000.00.
