You will gather information, apply state law, and issue initial determinations on eligibility and continued benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills to obtain relevant and accurate information from all interested parties in a timely manner.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage and timely resolve all assigned cases.
• Ability to analyze facts, evaluate conflicting information, and correctly apply relevant law to those facts in a production-oriented environment.
• Strong writing skills to properly articulate all necessary findings and rationale for each determination.

Responsibilities

• Make initial determinations for unemployment claims in the Adjudication Unit.
• Gather and review claim information and apply North Carolina Employment Security Law.
• Determine eligibility for benefits based on weekly filing requirements.
• Provide first-level decisions regarding continued eligibility for benefits.
