Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri or equivalent.
• Familiarity with unemployment insurance systems and administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quasi-judicial hearings with interested parties and their counsel: place witnesses under oath, question witnesses to ascertain pertinent facts, see that hearings are properly recorded, admit or exclude evidence, and facilitate the cross-examination of witnesses.
• Prior to hearing, review the Division exhibits and documentation submitted by the parties and make necessary preparations to address the issues pertinent to the hearing.
• Prepare written decisions, or orders, applying pertinent provisions of the law and following established precedents.
• Study precedent decisions in similar cases as a guide for making decisions.
