Job summary

Lancashire Insurance U.S. in Connecticut is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to provide underwriting and administrative support for the Energy Casualty team. You will help with data collection, account setup, quotes, binders, policy endorsements, and issuing policies.

Daily duties include data entry, quality checks, broker correspondence, and ad hoc operational tasks. The role requires 3–5 years of casualty experience, strong attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Insurance industry experience (3–5 years minimum in Casualty).
• Self-motivated with willingness to develop underwriting knowledge.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service to external clients.
• Degree level qualification.

Responsibilities

• Work with and support the assigned Underwriter to review account submission data and obtain missing information from brokers.
• Confirm policy issuance instructions for quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, notices, etc., and complete coding/issuance.
• Perform data entry and quality control checks of policy information into in-house systems.
• Generate broker correspondence related to processing and follow-up requests.
• Perform ad hoc operational duties to support Underwriting teams.
