Job summary

PMA Companies is seeking an underwriting support professional to assist in preparing new business quotes, rating new business and renewal applications, and issuing policies. The role emphasizes accuracy, meeting due dates, and coordinating with underwriters and agents.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years year of experience in an underwriting function.
• Knowledge of at least one line of business to approve and process policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete portfolio process (RPA) prior to renewal date.
• Complete pre-underwriting process of renewals by Underwriter due date and new business submissions.
• Coordinate the pre-underwriting process including review of application and requests for additional information.
• Review of application and request for add'l info from agent or PMA staff.
• Classification of exposures and ordering RMA, D&B, MVRs and synopsis.
• Completion of loss trend and development; analysis of large claims and loss trends.
• Review of prior audits; complete new business, renewal and financial notification forms.
• Attend and participate in Team and Underwriting Meetings and meet with underwriter weekly.
