Who We Are Looking For:

As part of the Actuarial and Underwriting team, our Underwriting Specialists process applications accurately and promptly, ensuring eligibility criteria are met, and provide customer service regarding potential or pending policies—all in service of creating an economically sustainable health care system.

What You Bring to Cambia:
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year of medical office, customer service, or call center experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and discretion in a mature, sensitive, and confidential manner
  • Typing speed of 30 wpm with 95% accuracy
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software, and ability to learn complex systems
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Dependability and consistent attendance and performance
What You Will Do at Cambia:
  • Perform outreach to applicants and members via phone, email, or letter to gather information for application processing
  • Review applications for completeness, residency, third-party payers, and coverage eligibility
  • Conduct peer audits of eligibility for various applications
  • Prepare and validate files for imaging and retention; manage document records
  • Enter data into tracking systems and coordinate application approvals and activations
  • Produce and audit correspondence, handle incoming calls
  • Apply policy changes to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Track production metrics
  • Maintain compliance with MTM and HIPAA Privacy standards

The hiring range for this role is $17.75 – $18.50/hour, with a bonus target of 5%. The full salary range is $17.75 - $28.90/hour.
