Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and ongoing servicing. The role involves gathering requirements, reviewing for completeness, and submitting to carriers and lenders, with close collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

You will track exams and APS requests, update Salesforce Chatter, and ensure timely completion while maintaining organized underwriting files and delivering exceptional

Qualifications

• Life insurance underwriting support experience in the policy life cycle.
• Ability to process work accurately while meeting productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Ability to maintain underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor each case throughout underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
• Annually review client’s policy and loan and communicate requirements to the client.
• Assist clients with completing annual requirements to support timely policy funding.
• Prepare annual client summaries describing policy performance.
• Maintain organized underwriting files and SharePoint folders and enter case information in Salesforce and Salesforce Chatter.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Case Manager and underwriting team, including data entry, document preparation, file organization, and workflow follow-up.
