JCW Group is partnering with a leading commercial insurer to hire an Underwriting Manager for the national middle market property platform. You will run one of four regional teams serving retail middle market clients and report directly to senior leadership.

This in-office role offers an opportunity to build a team, shape profitability and growth, and leverage deep property underwriting expertise and broker relationships.

Formación

• 8-10+ years of hands-on property underwriting experience in retail middle market or broader commercial lines.
• Experience managing or mentoring underwriters and building broker/client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, insurance, accounting, economics or related field preferred.

• Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of property underwriters, providing technical guidance and direction.
• Own profitability and growth of your region’s retail middle market property portfolio.
• Evaluate new business and renewal submissions from retail brokers.

Underwriting Manager, Middle Market Property

JCW Group is partnering with a leading commercial insurer with a national middle market property platform to hire an Underwriting Manager. You’ll run one of four regional property underwriting teams serving retail middle market clients and report directly to senior leadership.

This is a chance to build a team and shape the profitability and growth of a regional property book. We’re looking for someone with deep commercial property expertise, sound technical judgment, strong leadership skills, and existing relationships with retail brokers.

Location

This is a fully in-office role (five days a week). You can choose to be based in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, or Dallas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of property underwriters, providing technical guidance and direction
• Own the profitability and growth of your region’s retail middle market property portfolio
• Evaluate new business and renewal submissions coming in from retail brokers
• Act as a trusted subject matter expert for brokers, clients, and internal partners

Key Qualifications:

• 8-10+ years of hands-on property underwriting experience, ideally in retail middle market or broader commercial lines
• A track record of managing or mentoring underwriters, and of building broker and client relationships
• A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, insurance, accounting, economics, or a related field (preferred)
