Zurich North America is offering an Underwriting Intern position for Summer 2027 in Ohio, hybrid work arrangement. You will work with experienced underwriting professionals on real projects to support risk management, client relationships, and business growth.

Responsibilities include learning underwriting fundamentals, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with BI-driven reports. Eligible students with strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• Enrolled in Fall 2027; rising Junior or Senior.
• Two or more years of college coursework.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related field

Leadership experience in campus organizations or extracurricular activities

The Role

As an Underwriting Intern at Zurich, you will be an integral part of our Underwriting organization. Under the guidance of experienced underwriting professionals and mentors, you will contribute to real projects and tasks that support business growth, customer relationships, and risk management strategies.

Depending on the specific internship placement, this position will allow you to:

• Learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship and hands‑on training
• Support business unit financial reporting and analysis
• Assist with preparing financial and operational reports using underwriting and business intelligence tools
• Support pipeline management and underwriting operations activities
• Participate in client, broker, and stakeholder meetings
• Review loss summaries and assist with account analysis
• Gain exposure to customer, broker, and partner relationships within the insurance industry

Basic Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related field
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and will be enrolled in the Fall of 2027
• Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
• Microsoft Office experience
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

• Cumulative GPA at/above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Problem solving skills in customer focused environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Experience in leadership roles, campus organizations, or extracurricular activities

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us.

The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. For this position, the hourly range is $21.00-$23.00.
