Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Intern, Cyber in New York, in-office. The role offers hands-on experience with underwriting teams, supporting submissions, and learning risk assessment and pricing fundamentals.

You will work with experienced underwriters, contribute to meaningful projects, and build practical skills for your career in risk and insurance. Internship runs June–August 2027 with travel 0–10% and a salary of $22.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Graduating between December 2027 and May 2028 is preferred.
• Majoring in risk management, business, finance, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with underwriters to review insurance submissions and understand risk fit.
• Learn fundamentals of risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy.
• Help organize underwriting information and keep records accurate.
• Research industry trends, emerging risks, and market insights for the team.
• Contribute to team projects and day-to-day coordination.

Role responsibilities

• Partner with underwriters to review insurance submissions and understand what makes a risk a good fit.

• Learn the fundamentals of risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy through real examples and team discussions.

• Help organize underwriting information, update records, and keep key details accurate and easy to access.

• Research industry trends, emerging risks, and market insights, then summarize findings for the team.

• Contribute to team projects, meetings, and day-to-day coordination while building confidence in a professional business environment.

Key requirements

• Currently enrolled in aBachelor’sdegree program, preferably in Risk
• Management, Business Administration, or a related field (graduating between December 2027 and May 2028)
• Majoring in risk management, business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles is a plus.
