Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Consultant specializing in Commercial Construction. This individual will manage a complex portfolio, develop underwriting strategies, and foster client relationships. The role requires technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assess and underwrite highly complex risks using diagnostic analysis.
  2. Develop specialized endorsement language for complex risks.
  3. Determine appropriate pricing based on financial and market analysis.
  4. Recommend underwriting policies and strategies.
  5. Analyze profitability and prepare reports for management.
  6. Market products through agencies and brokers, maintaining strong relationships.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and participate in trade groups.
  8. Mentor less experienced underwriters and contribute to training.
  9. Lead special underwriting projects and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; professional designations preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of underwriting experience.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in insurance and underwriting.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
