Job summary

The Church Pension Group is seeking a Commercial Lines Assistant to provide administrative and technical support to Commercial Lines Underwriters. You will gather underwriting information, prep new/renewal work, and analyze reports while learning risk assessment and pricing basics.

This hybrid role requires 2+ years of office experience, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow in insurance underwriting. The team values accuracy, initiative, and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of professional office experience.
• Interest in insurance underwriting with curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Request, gather, evaluate and document underwriting information from agency on insured or prospective insureds as needed.
• Prepare prep work on new and renewal business including evaluation of loss experience and exposure details for underwriter review.
• Order and analyze underwriting reports for review by underwriters.
• Independently review and assess completed loss control/risk management reports.
• Analyze and process endorsements based on authority level within timelines.
• Collaborate with agency staff, billing and claims teams.
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Regular on-site interaction with colleagues for relationship building and collaboration.

Underwriting is responsible for the collection, review and evaluation of risk exposure to loss, creating insurance coverage, terms and conditions to meet the needs of current and prospective policyholders. The Commercial Lines Assistant provides administrative and technical support to Commercial Lines Underwriters by performing various tasks to facilitate the underwriting function.

What You Will Do

• Request, gather, evaluate and document underwriting information from agency on insured or prospective insureds as needed
• Perform prep work on new and renewal business including evaluation of loss experience, highlighting details of exposure, follow‑up on outstanding underwriting information and general assessment of coverage and pricing for underwriting review
• Order and analyze underwriting reports for review by underwriters
• Independently review and assess completed loss control/risk management reports
• Analyze and process endorsements requested based on authority level and completed within a prescribed timeframe
• Establish and foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with agency staff, billing and claims staff
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in‑person, on‑site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Salary Range: $47,000 - $57,000
