Responsibilities

• Submission and File Management: Review loss run requests, set up files, import submissions, maintain submission tracker, understand submission workflow, and process manual inputs.
• Rating and Documentation: Apply approved rates and generate underwriting documents.
• Policy Processing: Bind new business and renewals for single locations, schedules, or blankets.
• Payment and Follow-Up: Manage non-monetary endorsements, perform routine follow-ups, and issue notices of intent to cancel when appropriate.
• Growth Opportunities: Prepare and manage carrier submissions, handle open-market opportunities, and support renewals.

Each Underwriting Assistant plays an important role in supporting the team by:

• Submission & File Management
  • Reviewing and responding to loss run requests
  • Setting up files, including third party vendor runs and imported submissions
  • Importing submissions for schedules, blankets, and single locations
  • Maintaining and utilizing the submission tracker
  • Developing a strong understanding of the submission workflow
  • Processing and understanding manual-input submissions into proprietary systems
• Rating & Documentation
  • Applying approved rates to schedules, blankets, and single locations
  • Generating required underwriting documentation
• Policy Processing
  • Binding new business and renewal policies, including: Single locations, Schedules, Blankets
• Payment & Follow-Up
  • Managing non-monetary endorsements and understanding applicable forms and form logic
  • Conducting routine payment follow-ups
  • Understanding when and how to issue a 10-day Notice of Intent to Cancel (NOITC)

Opportunities for Growth:

• Carrier Submissions
  • Preparing and managing carrier submissions, including open-market opportunities
• Complex Policy Processing
  • Managing more complex policy endorsements, including: Mid‑term location additions and removals
  • Policy cancellations
• Renewals
  • Supporting the renewal process from initial rating through renewal submission setup
  • Building greater ownership of renewal accounts and workflows
