Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process quotes, endorsements, policy changes, cancellations, and servicing transactions.
  • Respond to agent, broker, and client inquiries with professional service.
  • Review and process submissions per carrier guidelines and agency procedures.
  • Assist with binding documentation and policy issuance.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting files and policy records in agency systems.
  • Coordinate collection and filing of policy documents to ensure compliance.
  • Follow up to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and partners to support efficient policy processing.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet productivity and service standards.

Job Summary:

Wholesure Inc., a division of Acrisure, is looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriting Assistant who provides administrative and operational support to the underwriting team by processing policy transactions, maintaining underwriting documentation, and coordinating servicing activities. This role works closely with underwriters, carrier partners, and agents to ensure the timely and accurate processing of commercial insurance business while maintaining compliance with carrier guidelines and agency procedures. The Commercial Underwriting Assistant plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process insurance quotes, endorsements, policy changes, cancellations, and other policy servicing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to agent, broker, and client inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Review and process new business submissions and supporting documentation in accordance with carrier guidelines and agency procedures.
  • Assist underwriters and other business partners with the preparation and processing of binding documentation and policy issuance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting files, policy records, and supporting documentation within agency management systems.
  • Coordinate the collection, organization, and filing of policy documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow up with agents, carriers, and clients to obtain outstanding information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure complete and accurate policy records.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, carrier partners, and internal teams to support efficient policy processing and timely service delivery.
  • Prioritize assigned workloads while meeting established productivity, quality, and service standards.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with agents, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and relationship building.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous insurance, customer service, administrative support, or underwriting support experience preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross‑functional partnership.
