Job summary

Alliant Insurance Services in Denver seeks a Renewal Underwriter responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and rating renewal business. You will work closely with Retail Producers and Account Managers to ensure submissions are complete, obtain additional information, and coordinate with carriers to price and bind coverage.

  • Six or more years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry.
  • Valid Insurance License.
  • Must continue to meet requirements for license renewal.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrites a renewal book of business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with brokers/agents to negotiate renewal terms and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Analyzes policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions or discrepancies to ensure agreement with application, quote, proposal, and/or binder.
  • Issues policies and endorsements; binds coverage and coordinates binders/evidences.
  • Maintains and manages renewal spreadsheet.
  • Coordinates the preparation of policy delivery with all related documents.
  • Services Renewal Underwriter calls, answers questions regarding client coverage, limits and deductibles.
  • Maintains files for renewal submissions and written or lost business.
  • Maintains client suspense and conducts follow-ups as appropriate.
  • Serves as a technical expert, assisting Account Managers to resolve complex issues.
  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).

SUMMARY

Ensures content of submissions is complete; obtains additional information from Retail Producers and Account Managers as needed. Markets to carrier to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, define coverage's, and determine commissions.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six (6) or more years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of insurance industry
  • Valid Insurance License
  • Must continue to meet requirements for license renewal
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
