Job summary

Alliant Insurance Services in Kentucky seeks an experienced Renewal Underwriter to review, underwrite and rate renewal business. You will ensure submissions are complete and accurate, and coordinate with Retail Producers and Account Managers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing and define coverage options.

The role requires a valid insurance license, 6+ years of related experience, and the ability to work with brokers to maintain strong client relationships while issuing policies and endorsements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of insurance industry.
• Valid Insurance License; must continue to meet license renewal requirements.
• Driver License valid in state.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites a renewal book of business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with brokers/agents to negotiate renewal terms and maintain relationships.
• Analyzes policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions or discrepancies.
• Issues policies and endorsements; binds coverage and binders/evidences.
• Maintains and manages renewal spreadsheet.
• Coordinates the preparation of policy delivery with related documents.
• Responds to Renewal Underwriter inquiries regarding coverage, limits and deductibles.
• Maintains files for renewal submissions and written or lost business.
• Maintains client suspense and conducts follow-ups as appropriate.
• Serves as a technical expert to assist Account Managers with complex issues.
• Ensures data standards and integrity in the agency management system.

SUMMARY

Responsible for reviewing, underwriting and rating broker for renewal business. Ensures content of submissions is complete; obtains additional information from Retail Producers and Account Managers as needed. Markets to carrier to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, define coverage's, and determine commissions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Underwrites a renewal book of business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with brokers/agents to negotiate renewal terms and maintain strong business relationships.
• Analyzes policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions or discrepancies to ensure agreement with application, quote, proposal, and/or binder.
• Issues policies and endorsements; binds coverage and coordinates binders/evidences.
• Maintains and manages renewal spreadsheet.
• Coordinates the preparation of policy delivery with all related documents.
• Services Renewal Underwriter calls, answers questions regarding client coverage, limits and deductibles.
• Maintains files for renewal submissions and written or lost business.
• Maintains client suspense and conducts follow-ups as appropriate.
• Serves as a technical expert, assisting Account Managers to resolve complex issues.
• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Six (6) or more years of related work experience
• Knowledge of insurance industry
• Valid Insurance License
• Must continue to meet requirements for license renewal
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
