Job summary

Argo Group is seeking an experienced production underwriter to market, underwrite, and process assigned lines of business in a 100% in-office role. Position requires on-site work during standard business hours and frequent interaction with brokers and clients.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, five years of underwriting experience with authority, and strong negotiation and analytical skills. Advanced Excel/Outlook/Word proficiency is expected, with travel ~20%.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• A relentless desire to continually update your skill level through continuing education and self-development.
• Previous insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designations are strongly preferred.
• A minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority

• Demonstrated robust and productive relationships with professional liability specialist brokers in the Central U.S., marketplace.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation skills, achieving favorable outcomes in win/win negotiations.

• Proven ability to consistently produce and deliver expected results.

Job Description

This is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business. Responsibilities may also include participating in special projects and mentoring less experienced staff. This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Pay ranges

Richmond & Omaha pay range: $94,452 - $160,344

Albany Houston & Chicago pay range: $103,398 - $176,562

Los Angeles & New York City pay range: 113,424 - $192,576

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
