Job summary

TransRe in New York is seeking an experienced underwriter to underwrite new and renewal opportunities in the mental healthcare vertical across Admitted and E&S platforms, ensuring sound risk selection and coverage structures for profitable growth.

You will build broker relationships, market healthcare products at meetings and events, and collaborate with Claims, Risk Management, Actuarial, and leadership to develop solutions and monitor market trends; hybrid schedule with four days in office and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial liability underwriting experience in the E&S market.
• Experience building and maintaining broker and wholesale relationships within healthcare professional liability or related specialty lines.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• RPLU, or other industry designations, is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% for industry conferences, broker, and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to increase submission flow and deliver appropriate insurance solutions for risks.
• Actively market FAIRCO’s healthcare products and capabilities through marketing efforts at broker and client meetings, industry exhibits and events, and targeted business development efforts.
• Partner with Claims, Risk Management, Actuarial, and Senior Leadership teams to evaluate and develop insurance solutions, emerging risks, and market opportunities.
• Manage portfolio performance within mental health segments and identify opportunities for growth; monitor MPL market trends and jurisdictional developments to maintain competitive positioning, create new business opportunities, and strengthen FAIRCO’s leadership in the market.

Work Schedule

TransRe supports an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, local office practices and preferences, marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office per week and 1 day remote.
