Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in insurance, risk management, business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of Financial Lines underwriting experience preferred; experience in allied lines a plus.
  • Solid understanding of professional liability insurance products, coverage structures, and rating methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment: Analyze and evaluate new and renewal submissions for various Financial Lines Underwriting.
  • Decisions: Determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage terms, and conditions within delegated authority, adhering to company guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Portfolio Management: Effectively manage a book of business to achieve profitability and growth targets.
  • Broker Relationship: Build and maintain successful broker relationships through responsive communication, excellent service, and market knowledge.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the claims, actuarial, and loss control teams to monitor trends and ensure sound underwriting practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare and issue policy documentation, endorsements, and quotes accurately and efficiently.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the professional liability portfolio in alignment with company strategy.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry developments, coverage trends, and regulatory requirements.
