Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Advanced Undersea Systems and Technology Group in Lexington, MA seeks a researcher to advance undersea sensing and signal processing. You will contribute to AI/ML methods, autonomous systems, and testing with DoD sponsors across manned and unmanned platforms.

Qualifications

  • PhD in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics, computer science, or related field (or MS with 3–5 years experience).
  • Ability to clearly communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in a scientific programming language (MATLAB or Python).

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the full application-development cycle, from brainstorming to mature capability transition.
  • Participate in at-sea sensor test and validation activities.
  • Develop theoretical models of physical phenomena, create laboratory-grade simulations, and refine accuracy with real-world experimental results.
