Qualifications

• Experience operating a wheel loader in underground utility or heavy civil construction.
• Understanding trenching operations, backfill requirements and material handling practices.
• Ability to work safely around open excavations and active utilities.
• Ability to read grade stakes and follow directions from Foreman or Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders to load and move materials such as fill, sand, gravel and spoils.
• Support pipe crews by maintaining backfill material supply and staging along trench lines.
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment daily.
• Identify and avoid underground utilities and other hazards on site.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and communicate with crew members.
