Job summary

LeoTerra Siteworks in Kernersville, NC, is hiring an experienced Underground Utility Pipe Layer to install water, sewer, and storm drain piping in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on underground utility construction experience, can read blueprints and grade stakes, set pipe to line and grade with lasers and levels, and work closely with a crew in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of underground utility installation experience (water/sewer preferred).
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and grade stakes.
• Knowledge of trench safety and excavation standards.
• Experience working around heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sewer, and storm drain piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and project specifications.
• Set pipe to proper line and grade using lasers and levels.
• Install fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and related components.
• Assist with trench layout, bedding, backfilling, and compaction.
• Ensure proper trench safety and shoring requirements are followed.
• Work closely with equipment operators and crew members.
• Perform basic maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
• Follow OSHA and company safety policies at all times.
