Job summary

Tunnel Ridge LLC in West Virginia is seeking an hourly Mine Operator to support our underground operations. You will operate mining equipment, assist in maintenance, and perform tasks from setting floor to roof supports to wiring ventilation controls.

Responsibilities include hanging power cables, laying rail, rock dust, cleaning spills, and loading supplies. Strong emphasis on safety and teamwork, with 8‑hour rotating shifts and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• WV Miner's Card - Black Hat is required to work in the mine.

Responsibilities

• Operate mining equipment according to training and mine needs.
• Assist in maintenance activities as trained.
• Set floor to roof supports.
• Build or hang ventilation controls.
• Hang and handle power cables.
• Lay rail.
• Rock dust tasks.
• Shovel and cleanup spillage.
• Load and unload supplies and handle materials.
• Mine drainage including pumping and ditching.
• Assist in power moves.
• Assist in belt moves, installation and repair.
• Watch out for safety of self and co-workers.
• Perform pre-operational checks before operating equipment.
• Perform any other assigned tasks per training or experience.

Work Schedule:

• 8 hour shift + hot seat
• Rotating shifts
• Monday through Friday, occasional Saturday
• Overtime – as required, and/or voluntary

License/Certification:

• WV Miner's Card - Black Hat (Required)

Physical Requirements:

• Operate equipment in a safe efficient manner
• Use various hand tools
• Lift, carry, push, pull – tools, materials and supplies 50 – 100 lbs. regularly.
• Walk, bend, climb, reach, crawl as necessary
• Work Closely with others in a team environment
