Job summary

Core Natural Resources, Inc. is seeking a maintenance foreman to supervise a crew responsible for the maintenance of CM and/or LW machinery and equipment in an underground mining environment.

The role focuses on maintaining high equipment availability while upholding safety standards and the company-wide Absolute ZERO safety culture. The candidate will coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams and may assume shift foreman duties when required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 18 years of age.
• Requires PA Black Hat or equivalent certification.
• Requires Federal Underground Electrical Certification (HIGH, MED, LOW).
• Working knowledge of coal mining operations, safety, production, maintenance, economics, and staff utilization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew responsible for maintenance of CM and/or LW machinery and equipment.
• Ensure high availability while maintaining safety standards and embedding the Absolute ZERO safety culture.
• Provide expertise in underground equipment maintenance to support longwall and/or continuous miner sections.
• Maintain various systems including shuttle cars, feeder breakers, roof bolters, pumps, conveyors, ventilation fans, electrical systems, and safety monitoring systems.
• Perform supervisory duties such as goal setting, planning, training and performance evaluation.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Communicate mine plans, changes, and policies to employees.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance and other departments to maintain efficient, safe operations.
• Order materials, parts and supplies as needed.
• May perform duties of other foreman or shift maintenance foreman as needed.

Position Summary

This position supervises a crew responsible for the maintenance of CM and/or LW machinery and equipment, and the maintenance of equipment and facilities so that high availability rates are maintained while meeting safety standards.

Target Responsibilities

• Ensure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all work performed
• Provides expertise in the maintenance of underground equipment and machinery to support longwall and/or continuous miner sections.
• Performs maintenance on one or more of the following: shuttle cars, feeder breakers and roof bolters, diesel and electric ram cars, water and dewatering pump systems, belt drives, conveyor systems, Ventilation fans, hoists and escape capsules, electrical systems and power distribution lines, and communications and safety monitoring systems.
• Performs key supervisory responsibilities such as goal setting, planning, training and performance evaluation.
• Conducts safety inspections and ensures that equipment is used in a safe and responsible manner.
• Communicates mine plans, changes and company policies and procedures to employees.
• Coordinates and communicates with engineering, maintenance and other departments or shifts as needed to maintain an efficient and safe operation
• Orders materials, parts & supplies as needed.
• May perform the duties of other production, operations or maintenance foreman. May assume the duties of the shift maintenance foreman due to absence.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Requires PA Black Hat or equivalent certification
• Requires Federal Underground Electrical Certification (HIGH, MED, LOW)
• Requires working knowledge of coal mining operations; including safety, production, maintenance, economics, and equipment usage and staff utilization.

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires
• Must be able to work a shift rotation
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• This position is defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles as a heavy job category and must be able to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, pry, work on/near moving equipment and perform any job specific activity as required by job assignment
