Job summary

Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking experienced Underground Utility Pipelayers for projects across the Coastal Georgia region, including Savannah. You will install storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water mains on heavy civil and municipal sites, reading plans and maintaining alignment and grade.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, lifting heavy loads, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Competitive pay based on experience with overtime opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience installing underground utility pipe in a heavy civil environment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes.
• Knowledge of trench safety and excavation standards; ability to work around existing utilities.

Responsibilities

• Install storm drain, sanitary sewer, water main, and drainage pipe systems.
• Set up pipe laser and shoot grade with transit.
• Lay pipe to proper alignment and elevation per project specs.
• Install manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and related structures.
• Perform backfill and compaction operations.
• Cut and join pipe sections as required.
• Work safely in trenches per OSHA standards.
• Assist with site cleanup and keep work areas organized.
• Follow supervisor directions and safety protocols.

Position Overview

Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is hiring experienced Underground Utility Pipelayers for infrastructure and roadway projects located throughout the Costal Georgia Region - Savannah. Our crews install storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water main systems on heavy civil and municipal construction projects. Projects include roadway construction, DOT infrastructure work, site development, and municipal utility installation. This is a great opportunity for dependable workers who have experience in underground utilities, trench work, and heavy civil construction and want consistent work with a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Install storm drain, sanitary sewer, water main, and drainage pipe systems
• Set up pipe laser and shoot grade with transit
• Lay pipe to proper alignment and elevation per project specifications
• Install manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and related structures
• Perform backfill and compaction operations
• Cut, and join pipe sections as required
• Work safely in and around trenches in compliance with OSHA standards
• Assist with site cleanup and maintain organized work areas
• Follow directions from supervisors and adhere to all safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• Experience installing underground utility pipe in a heavy civil environment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
• Knowledge of trench safety and excavation standards
• Ability to safely work around existing utilities
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
• Strong attention to safety and detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-diameter pipe installation
• Familiarity with laser levels and grade control systems
• Experience on DOT or municipal projects
