Job summary

TAK Broadband, LLC seeks a motivated Pipefitter to support pipeline construction and maintenance for our Public Works department in Sacramento, CA. You will install, repair and maintain water piping systems including mains, valves, hydrants and services, reading plans, cutting and threading pipes, and ensuring safe water delivery.

You will meet at yard daily and travel with crew to job sites, returning daily to 1225 Grace Ave, Sacramento, CA 95838.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years previous experience in plumbing, piping or municipal water utilities at a journeyman level required
  • Experience with water main repairs and installations of pipe sizes from 6" to 24" in diameter required
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Ability to prep and clean job sites, dig trenches or pits, backfill, and level ground to grade
  • Capable of safely controlling traffic in and around work zones
  • Experience with potholing to expose underground utilities
  • Knowledge of underground piping systems (storm, sanitary, or water) installation
  • Ability to assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using various materials (e.g., couplings, clamps, cement, solder, etc.)
  • Skilled in measuring, marking, and locating pipe installations using rulers, levels, or similar tools
  • Ability to cut, thread, and shape pipes using saws, torches, pipe threaders, and benders
  • Comfortable operating hand tools, jackhammers, air compressors, and vacuums
  • Able to lift, carry, and transport tools and materials safely
  • Experience and ability to use basic hand tools, jackhammers and jumping jacks
  • Able to bend, lift, kneel and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to withstand exposure to heat, cold and rain; chemicals and fumes; dust from roads and break up of concrete; cars on roads
  • Able to travel to various job sites within a 2-hour radius (meet at yard; return same day)
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Class A CDL preferred; N endorsement preferred; airbrakes & manual preferred
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)

We are seeking a motivated Pipefitter to support pipeline construction and maintenance projects for our Public Works department in Sacramento, CA. In this role you will install, repair and maintain water piping systems including water mains, valves, fire hydrants and services. Key duties include reading project plans and specifications, cut and thread pipes and performing repairs to ensure safe water delivery.

The Role
