Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and receive locator certification.
• Ability to drive local roads and work outdoors.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Comfort walking long distances on varied terrain in all weather.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Use mechanical/technical equipment to locate underground facilities such as electrical power lines and fiber optic lines.
• Provide locate services along the I-64 corridor.
• Communicate with client managers and excavation crews to discuss locate issues.
• Interpret job orders and respond to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Read maps and blueprints to locate utilities accurately.
• Determine efficient routes for each locate in urban and rural areas.
• Remove and replace manhole lids.
