Job summary

GridHawk is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in St. Johns, MI. This role involves accurately locating underground utilities such as electric power lines and gas lines and requires skills in machinery and documentation.

Technicians may work independently or as part of a team and must be adaptable to various terrains and weather. Candidates need to have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and exceptional communication skills. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency (GED).
• State issued driver’s license.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground facilities by using a transmitter.
• Work in various terrains and weather conditions.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps.
• Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates.
• Communicate effectively with management and customers.
• Maintain a damage‑free environment.
