Job summary

Engbarth Directional Drilling is hiring an Underground Utility Laborer in Canistota, SD. CDL preferred and paid training are offered, with opportunities to learn on real projects alongside experienced crews.

You'll install underground fiber, electric, water, and other utility systems, assist with directional drilling, operate tools after training, and travel to project sites. Safety and teamwork are emphasized as you build a lasting career in underground utility construction.

Responsibilities

• Install underground utility infrastructure and related systems.
• Assist with directional drilling and underground construction projects.
• Load, unload, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment.
• Drive commercial vehicles and transport equipment to job sites (CDL preferred).
• Travel to project sites throughout the region as needed.
• Work outdoors in a physically active, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

• Install underground utility infrastructure, including fiber optic, electric, water, and utility systems
• Assist with directional drilling and underground construction projects
• Load, unload, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials
• Drive commercial vehicles and transport equipment to job sites (CDL preferred)
• Operate construction equipment after training and qualification
• Support crews in completing projects safely, efficiently, and with quality workmanship
• Travel to project sites throughout the region as needed
• Work outdoors in a physically active, team-oriented environment
• Follow company safety policies and help maintain a strong safety culture
