Job summary

Alliance Construction in Sioux Falls, SD, seeks a seasoned Project Superintendent to oversee underground utility construction from planning through completion. The role emphasizes safety, scheduling, and coordination with field crews and stakeholders.

You will lead daily operations, read engineered plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality on diverse projects within town and nearby areas. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a bonus but not required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility construction, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, perform physically demanding tasks and work safely and effectively in varying weather conditions.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of underground utility systems, including water, sanitary sewer and natural gas.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, coordinate crews and promote teamwork in a construction environment.
• Available Monday–Friday, with very minimal weekend work.
• Ability to work on projects in town and potentially out of town at a drive able distance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of underground utility construction projects, from initial planning and site preparation through project completion.
• Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress and address concerns.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Contractors, Engineers and Field Management staff to coordinate activities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Proactively identify challenges and implement timely solutions to minimize delays.
• Read and understand engineer plans, specifications, and regulations.
• Supervise, lead and coordinate daily activities of field crews to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations, with focus on underground utilities hazards.
