Job summary

Midco is hiring Equipment Operators to work out of Moose Lake, MN, with local work and nightly home time. The role offers $24.00-$31.00 per hour (DOE), a $1,500 bonus, and full benefits including PTO, holidays, 401k with match, medical, dental and vision, paid paternal leave, and more.

Multiple operator levels and advancement opportunities exist; CDL and prior underground utility experience preferred. This seasonal, full-time position may lead to year-round employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 2 years of equivalent work experience.
• Complete Construction First Time Right certification within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and DOT compliance, may require DOT Medical Card.
• Knowledge of construction, the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations and related safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate UG construction equipment (e.g., mini-excavator, skid-steer, directional bore) to install or maintain underground telecom utilities.
• Perform site analysis, verify trench/bore paths, and ensure proper clearances and safety.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and necessary reports; ensure equipment safety.
• Provide training and guidance to less experienced team members; lead when project lead is absent.
• Transport and position excavation equipment; maintain vehicle cleanliness and routine maintenance.
• Follow Midco’s safety program and privacy guidelines; comply with policies and procedures.
• Work schedule may include overtime, travel, and extended hours as needed.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Construction First Time Right certification

Valid driver’s license (DOT compliance)

Knowledge of NEC/OSHA regulations
