Job summary

LWR Stewardship District is seeking an Utilities Locator to accurately identify, locate, and mark underground utilities to ensure safe excavation and regulatory compliance. The role uses electromagnetic, radar, and GPS equipment and requires reading blueprints, as-builts, and GIS maps.

This full-time position is outdoors, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings. A valid US driver's license, ability to lift 80 pounds, and clear communication are required.

Qualifications

• Valid US Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Provide utility locates and field locates as required by the company.
• Analyze blueprints, as-builts, construction plans and GIS maps to determine utility locations.
• Use electromagnetic, radar, and GPS equipment to detect and mark underground utilities.
• Prepare diagrams and sketches showing utility line locations.
• Mark utility lines using paint and flags according to industry standards.
• Compile data into professional reports and maintain accurate records.
• Review field locate tickets and prepare field locate requests.
• Assure company safety guidelines are followed.
• On call after hours.
