Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a lead technician to direct a utilities distribution crew responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, and emergency restoration of campus underground utility systems, including water, steam, gas, and sewer. You will coordinate field activities, provide technical guidance, and support capital projects to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include asset documentation, regulatory compliance, and mentoring staff to maintain high safety standards

Qualifications

High school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment.
Valid driver's license, CDL Class A or B.

Responsibilities

Lead utility operations, maintenance, and emergency response by coordinating daily work and mentoring staff.
Plan and oversee daily maintenance, repair, and construction activities with safety and regulatory compliance in mind.
Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and contractors, for campus utility projects and inspections.
Maintain knowledge of underground utility infrastructure, records, GIS, and related asset management tasks.
Promote safe work practices, perform job hazard assessments, and support regulatory inspections.
