Job summary

Grayson Carter & Son Contracting, Inc. seeks diligent labor associates to support utility installation and site preparation tasks on job sites in Alabama. You will assist with gathering materials, using hand and power tools, and helping with underground utility work across water, storm, sewer, and electric systems.

Operative roles require physical stamina, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to pass drug screening. Weekend/overtime work may be needed; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and wear PPE on all sites.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must have dependable transportation and pass an Arsenal/FBI badge check if required.

Responsibilities

• Work on the bank for a utility crew helping gather materials and tools.
• Use various hand and power tools to accomplish tasks.
• Learn to install Underground Utilities including water, storm, sewer, and electric.
• Willing and able to operate heavy construction equipment as needed.
• Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times.
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other coworkers.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner.
