Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience leading a construction crew performing underground utility installation.
• Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, pipe installation, and compaction.
• Ability to read plans and follow specifications on site.
• Proven independence in leading, coaching, and training workers.
• Reliable attendance and professional communication.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects; Monday–Friday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and train a crew of 5–6 employees.
• Plan daily work, assign tasks, coordinate labor and equipment, and maintain crew productivity.
• Oversee installation of sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer systems.
• Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment.
• Ensure field operations meet plans, schedules, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily safety planning and enforce safety requirements.
• Communicate with project managers, inspectors, engineers, municipal personnel, and others.
• Record daily crew hours, production, and job progress.
• Document coaching, performance feedback, incidents, and issues promptly.
• Keep site organized and protect company equipment and materials.
