Job summary

Zachry Underground and Utility Services in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Underground Utility Foreman to direct labor and equipment for excavation and installation of underground utilities in and around the San Antonio area. The ideal candidate has experience leading crews, managing production, and ensuring safe, efficient job site operations.

You will supervise a crew, review plans, coordinate daily production and safety, and ensure work meets project specs while maintaining accurate reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction experience supervising crews.
• Ability to review construction plans and specifications for quality and accuracy.
• Effective communication with inspectors, customers, managers, subcontractors, and employees.
• Knowledge of dirt excavation, soil mechanics, shoring, and trench boxes.
• Understand of earthwork equipment capabilities and training in safe operation.
• Manage trenching, pipe, or conduit installation efficiently.
• Proficient in timekeeping and equipment logs on an iPad or similar device.
• Strong prioritization, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
• Fluency in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Valid Class C driver's license with clean driving record.
• Physical ability for long shifts and constant standing (10+ hours).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a 5-7 person crew for excavation and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and project specs.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production and safety.
• Monitor progress, quality, and efficiency of work.
• Assist project management to meet plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and logs including timekeeping and equipment logs.
• Adhere to Zachry safety policies and guidelines.
