Zachry Underground and Utility Services, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Underground Utility Foreman to lead a 5-7 person crew in excavation and duct bank installation, ensuring work aligns with plans and safety standards.

You will manage daily production, monitor quality and progress, and coordinate with inspectors, customers, and subcontractors. Relocation may be required; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction experience supervising crews.
• Ability to review construction plans and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Effective communication with inspectors, customers, managers, subcontractors, and employees.
• Knowledge of dirt excavation, soil mechanics, shoring, and trench boxes.
• Understanding of earthwork equipment capabilities and training in safe operation.
• Ability to manage trenching, pipe, or conduit installation efficiently.
• Proficiency in timekeeping and equipment logs using an iPad or similar device.
• Strong prioritization, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver's license.

Position Summary

Zachry Underground and Utility Services in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Underground Utility Foreman. This position is responsible for directing labor and equipment involved in the excavation and installation of underground utility projects in and around the San Antonio area. The ideal candidate will have experience leading crews, managing production, and ensuring safe and efficient job site operations.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and manage a 5-7 person crew performing excavation, shoring, telecom, and pipe and duct bank installation operations according to the owner's specifications and within the project's schedule and budget
• Ensure all work complies with environmental laws and regulations to protect and maintain work areas affected by operations
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production and safety for the crew
• Supervise and monitor progress, quality, and efficiency of work performed
• Assist project management in ensuring all work meets project plans and specifications
• Complete and maintain accurate daily reports, including timekeeping logs, equipment logs, and daily diaries
• Comply with all Zachry safety policies and guidelines

What We're Looking For

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality
• Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Physical ability to perform constant standing and manual effort during regular work shifts of at least ten hours per day
