Bear Creek Construction, Ltd. in Irving, TX seeks an Underground Site Utility Estimator – Lead Commercial Wet Utility Bidding to drive preconstruction success across the DFW Metroplex.

You will lead commercial wet utility estimating for storm, water, and sewer projects using PlanSwift, HCSS Heavy Bid, Procore, and other tools. You will collaborate with general contractors, project owners, and internal operations to ensure accurate bids, detailed budgets, and timely pre-bid material quotes, while

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial utility estimating (storm, water, sewer).
• Proven track record of independently managing complete bidding processes.
• Ability to read/interpret complex civil blueprints and specs.
• Experience with online bidding platforms (IsqFt, BuildingConnected, Procore, SmartBid).
• Strong communication with general contractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Hands-on proficiency with PlanSwift, Microsoft Project, and HCSS Heavy Bid.

You will play a pivotal role in driving preconstruction success by leading commercial wet utility estimating across the DFW Metroplex. How You Will Make An Impact

• Prepare precise commercial estimates for storm, water, and sewer utility projects using specialized bidding platforms.


• Analyze civil blueprints, project specifications, and scope requirements to build competitive, highly accurate project bids.


• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and utility plan reviews using tools such as PlanSwift and HCSS Heavy Bid.


• Collaborate with general contractors, project owners, and internal operations to ensure clear communication throughout the bidding process.


• Partner with accounting and purchasing departments to prepare detailed project budgets and secure competitive pre-bid material quotes.


• Facilitate seamless preconstruction planning and handoffs to the project management team upon award.


• Process, track, and maintain accurate documentation for project change orders and official project correspondence.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial utility estimating, specifically focused on storm, water, and sewer systems.


• Proven track record of independently facilitating the complete bidding process for commercial wet utility projects.


• Demonstrated ability to read and analyze complex civil blueprints, technical specifications, and site development plans.


• Proficiency using online bidding platforms (such as IsqFt, BuildingConnected, Procore, or SmartBid) and standard Microsoft Office applications.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with general contractors, clients, and internal teams.


• Hands-on proficiency with specialized estimating software including PlanSwift, Microsoft Project, and HCSS Heavy Bid.


• Personable and responsive, with strong follow-up skills to help close projects and keep bidding communication moving on time.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Active Responsible Managing Employee – Underground (RME-U) or Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) license.


• Professional bilingual communication skills (Spanish).
