Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking an Underground Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of underground mining equipment through data‑driven analysis and proactive maintenance initiatives. You will lead RCFA investigations and partner with maintenance, operations and planning teams to optimise equipment performance and asset life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years technical maintenance experience with underground hard rock mining equipment.
• 3–5 years of engineering experience in mining or related field.
• Experience with reliability analysis and failure investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead RCFA investigations for critical underground equipment failures.
• Identify recurring issues and drive corrective actions to improve reliability and lifecycle.
• Analyse MTBF/MTTR, availability, OEE and other KPI data to optimise performance.
• Develop maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans with maintenance teams.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to supervisors and operators.
• Collaborate with OEMs, contractors and suppliers to optimise equipment performance.
• Support budgeting, cost control and business cases for reliability projects.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory alignment of reliability initiatives.
