Job summary

Network Connex is seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Drill Locator to join our Idaho team. You will locate for drill rigs and perform directional drilling to install underground conduit, fiber, and other utilities on construction projects.

Responsibilities include reading maps and plans, interpreting utility locate markings, coordinating with drill operators, and maintaining safety per OSHA standards. A valid driver's license is required; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of HDD locating experience.
• Preferably experience locating for rock drills such as hammers or AT series drills.
• Strong understanding of underground utility construction and drilling operations.
• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret utility locate markings.
• Experience with electronic locating equipment (e.g., Subsite, DigiTrak, Underground Magnetics).
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Troubleshoot drilling issues and perform basic maintenance on the drill and support equipment.
• Ensure proper documentation of bore logs, as-builts, and job site activities.
• Always adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring public and team safety.
