Job summary

Cargill is offering a Mining Engineer Co-op in the United States, with locations in Cleveland, OH or Lansing, NY. You’ll gain hands-on experience across mining operations, maintenance and project work while developing leadership and technical skills in a fast-paced underground environment.

The program emphasizes collaboration, safety, and real-world problem solving, with a 7–8 month duration and hourly pay. Applicants should be pursuing an engineering degree and open to relocation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining preferred).
• Must be able to work underground and relocate to Cleveland, OH or Lansing, NY.
• Right to work in the U.S. not based solely on student visa.
• 7–8 month co-op May–December 2027.
• Strong initiative and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in operations leadership and maintenance engineering in mining.
• Lead teams of operators and production activities on projects.
• Learn surveying, room-and-pillar mining, mineral processing basics.
• Support safety, environmental and MSHA compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers to upgrade systems and drawings.
