Job summary

Excel Mining LLC is hiring a Mine Systems Technician for underground coal mine operations. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot underground tracking, communication, and CO monitoring systems to support safety and regulatory compliance.

Expect to work with PLCs, fiber optics, and coaxial networks, performing preventive maintenance and after-hours responses as needed. Current Underground Electrician Certification and MSHA retraining are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of underground coal mining experience.
• Current Underground Electrician Certification.
• MSHA retraining current and up to date.
• Demonstrated knowledge of underground communication, monitoring, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventative maintenance on underground tracking and CO monitoring systems.
• Advance, install, and commission tracking and CO monitoring systems as operations progress.
• Troubleshoot, repair, splice, test, and maintain coaxial leaky feeder cables.
• Troubleshoot, repair, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic networks.
• Install, calibrate, test, and maintain CO sensors and readers.
• Maintain mining monitoring computer systems and network infrastructure.
• Install and troubleshoot PLCs and related equipment.
• Perform PLC programming and modifications as directed.
• Record inspections, repairs, and testing accurately.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and MSHA compliance.
• Coordinate with mine operations for safe production.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
